Tow Vehicles

Global RV can provide various types of tow vehicles for use with not only your Global-sourced RV, but any bumper-pull trailer for that matter. Whether you would like to acquire an older light [1/2 ton] pickup in exceptional condition, or a newer unit requiring RHD conversion, we can source any of the popular pickups for you, whether Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet, GMC, Toyota or Nissan. For those unaware of the conversion requirements, in simple terms any truck over 20 years old [non-diesel] doesn't require conversion to RHD.

There are exceptions to this rule and one of the most notable ones is any two-seater truck [non-diesel] doesnt require conversion to RHD. The most popular of these two seaters is the Ford Lightning and theChevrolet 454SS and Dodge "Bumblebee". While these are not specifically tow-vehicles, they are extremely popular as performance and show vehicles which have tons of horsepower and can pull pretty much any caravan ever built at race-track level speeds.

Further information as to specific vehicles which require conversion or are exempt can be obtained from the specialist conversion companies in New Zealand such as Bunce Motors and Eagle Automotive or the various New Zealand Government websites, as follows:

https://www.nzta.govt.nz › Vehicles › Importing a vehicle › Exceptions It should also be noted that typically the most modern trucks able to be converted are generally around the 2010 year, with the exception of
Dodges which are being sold in New Zealand and Australia already converted to RHD, and available from certain Dodge Dealers.
